The Christian Bale tirade has been all over the news and blog sites. To say it’s been “blown out of proportion” would be an understatement. Well, Bale has apologized and admitted he lost his temper but then recovered for the rest of the shoot and he and Shane Hurlbut the DP are fine professionally and he didn’t try to get him fired.

Bale apologizes for the incident saying, “I was out of order beyond belief. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk, I regret that, and there is nobody that has heard that tape that has been hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it, it is inexcusable.”

He continues by adding, “I’m not comfortable yet with this notion of being a movie star. I’m an actor and I don’t quite know how to handle the movie star thing and the thing that disturbs me the most is a lot of people seem to think I think I am better than anybody else, and nothing could be farther from the truth… I’ve not only talked with [Shane Hurlbut], we’ve resolved this completely. That very day we kept working for a number of hours. Listen when I’m saying I’m not coming back on that set if he’s still hired, it’s hot air. I don’t believe that. I have no intention of getting anybody fired… Everything is resolved between us.”

I had a feeling Bale is not always like that on set and it was just him letting off some steam and getting into his “John Connor” character. Now lets hope the rest of the media moves on to something else.
